Who We Are

We are social impact filmmakers working with the foundations, nonprofits and changemakers of the world to tell moving stories that inspire and uplift humanity. Our specialization is short form documentary-style films and commercials that focus on social and cause marketing. Our creative and strategic chops include a smorgasbord of brand solutions (including partnering with folks like Plus Media Solutions) to take impact to the next level. Check out a sampling of our Work.

We are award-winning storytellers who put our clients objectives at the forefront of our work, bringing immense value and heart to every collaboration. Organizations return to us for our 3 decades of filmmaking expertise, and because of the deep care we take with the stories we tell. We are personally invested in how the work ripples into the world. To that end, we partner only with organizations doing the essential work of making the world a better place: more empathetic, enlightened, and just.

One of the best parts of our work is getting to nurture long-term relationships with our clients. We never think of a job as one and done, since many of our clients use our film services as part of their ongoing marketing strategy. These organizations really understand the value of highlighting their success stories through short-form documentary. Heartfelt storytelling drives home the real-world impact these organizations have, and allows their work to speak for itself. Whether it's a 4-5 minute mini documentary screening at a donor event, or a 60 second cutdown of that story for social media, it speaks straight to the heart of the intended audience, giving voice to those whose lives have been transformed, and visibility for the nonprofit whose work facilitated that transformation. Win-Win!

At Humans Being Media, we stand by the premise that a healthy society is a connected, empathetic and equitable society. We seek out stories that amplify the voices of marginalized communities, with the intention of evolving culture for the better. We acknowledge that we work and live on the territorial traditional land of the Coast Miwok People in Petaluma, and we honor with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it through the generations. We commit to learning how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit, as well as worthy caretakers of the stories we nurture.
